We’ve been following the developments around Samsung Galaxy View 2 for quite some time now.

The conversation here on TAS first started in November 2018, back when the device appeared on the Wi-Fi Alliance with model number SM-T927A. At the time, it wasn’t its first appearance on the WFA, but it did give us confidence that indeed the device was in tow. It also suggested that the model in the works was coming to the U.S. through AT&T.

Now, Samsung-centric publication, SamMobile, has exclusively uncovered images of what is believed to be the Galaxy View 2. The device is said to come with a 30-degree hinged kickstand meant to ease typing and general daily use.

The screen size will be 17.5 inches, about an inch smaller than its predecessor, and Samsung is also said to have removed the integrated handle seen on the OG model.

In January 2019, the same device made a stop on benchmarking website Geekbench, this time revealing a few details about the specs to expect. From the listing, we were able to gather that the Galaxy View 2 will ship with an Exynos 7885 processor allied to 3GB RAM.

At the time of the benchmark, Samsung had yet to begin rolling out Android 9 Pie, which should explain why the test results have Android 8.1 Oreo on board. That said, we expect the device to come pre-installed with the new One UI on top of Pie.

It’s unknown when the Galaxy View 2 will be unveiled. It’s also unclear if there will be a global variant, but SamMobile says a Wi-Fi variant will definitely come to the U.S.

I guess we’ll just have to wait.
