Anyone that was expecting the Galaxy S3 Mini to be another compelling smartphone out of Samsung’s factories due to it carrying the Galaxy S3‘s name, even despite most previous rumors already confirming most of its details, will be a bit disappointed at the specs of the Galaxy S3 Mini, which has been officially announced today by Samsung in Germany.
Carrying Samsung’s best-selling smartphone’s name only because of having the same (but smaller) design, the Galaxy S3 Mini sports a 1GHz NovaThor dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, 8/16GB of storage and a microSD slot, 5 megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, 1500 mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, with all the TouchWiz customization found on the Galaxy S3.
The Galaxy S3 Mini came to be because according to Samsung there is a huge demand of 4-inch smartphones in Europe, and it feels like the original Galaxy S, but with an upgraded processor, RAM and Android version. Having the latest version of Android with mid-range specs will most probably be the Galaxy S3 Mini’s biggest selling point, so here’s hoping Samsung hits the sweet spot with its pricing.
The Galaxy S3 Mini is expected to hit the market some time in November.
