Noted Russian tech journalist Eldar Murtazin revealed that the Samsung Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A90 will be the very first devices to debut the Infinity Screens (different versions are Infinity-U, Infinity-V, Infinity-O and New Infinity).
Previous sources had claimed differently — as it was believed that the Galaxy S10 would be the model to come with the Infinity Screen first, but given the reputation that Murtazin carries, we would believe how word on this more than anything else. He also stated that these phones would be released sometime around February 2019.
As the Galaxy S10 is widely believed to hit the market sometime around March next year, the conjectured release date of the A70 and A90 may sound a little off to some, given its proximity with the S10’s release date. However, if the two models are released back to back, it wouldn’t be the first time Samsung did something like this. The Galaxy A8 and A8+ were released just 2 months after the release of Galaxy A9 early this year.
Concept Designer Ben Geskin has further elaborated on what can be expected.
The Infinity-U, Infinity-V and Infinity-O versions do not remove screen bezels in their entirety, instead having tiny U,V or O shaped bezels embedded in one corner on the Infinity Screen to accommodate the front camera. Only the New Infinity version is spotless from top to bottom, and this version is the least expected to be used in the new products Samsung brings forth next year.

It remains to be seen which version of the Infinity screen is brought to the fore by Samsung next year. Samsung may even go ahead and try different designs in different models, to be able to gauge the public’s reception to the Infinity Screens more clearly. As such Samsung is also currently exploring different avenues of reviving its currently suffering mobile phones business, including creating the World’s first foldable gadgets.
