HTC recently rolled out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Desire 816 with software version 3.12.401.4. The update comes with Sense version 7.0, which is ways better and advanced than Sense 6.0 that Desire 816 previously rocked.
While most users did install the Marshmallow OTA to their HTC Desire 816, some like us who care about root access, chose to wait for a working root method or a pre-rooted stock ROM.
Well, thanks to developer xXminiWHOOPERxX over at xda, HTC Desire 816 now has a pre-rooted stock Marshmallow ROM (3.12.401.4).
You can install the ROM just like you’d install any other custom ROM on your device, via TWRP. Just grab the rooted Desire 816 Marshmallow stock ROM from the download link below and install/flash using TWRP (or any other custom recovery of your choice) along with a factory reset + wipe cache/dalvik cache.

update is aweosme. but there is a problem with the sim card detection. i have a gsm card and it is working. but the mobile is not supporting it. tried everything. even by using code *#*#4636#*#*
it is showing cdma preferred.
is this update only for cdma device?
