It’s a new world for long-time Rocket League players. The new regime under their Epic overseers has seen the game come close to melting under the weight of millions of new players clamoring through the game’s new free-to-play doors, the installation of a new friends system (again), and, perhaps most confusingly of all, a brand new challenge system.

What Is the New Challenge System?
The Challenge system is similar to PUBG’s Mission system in that it rewards players for the completion of specific tasks, like winning matches, gaining XP levels, or scoring a certain number of points over the course of a season.
Challenges will come in several varieties: Smaller scale Weekly challenges that reset every Wednesday, Season Challenges that last the course of each season, and Event challenges that provide rewards specific to limited-time events.
Challenges are available to both free-to-play gamers as well as Rocket Pass Premium owners, though the latter receive twice as many Season challenges as well as three extra Weekly Challenges — meaning more items. Challenges reward players with things like XP or Drops, which reward players with a random item of their respective rarity or higher.

What are Stage 2 challenges in Rocket League?
The Season Challenges provide better rewards than the weekly challenges upon completion of 24 Free Challenges, and with Rocket League’s massive economy and emphasis on trading, it’s no surprise that many players are chomping at the bit to finish them as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, for those who rushed through the first six, the Stage 2 Season Challenges did not automatically unlock, and without a timer or indication of how/when the rest will, many Rocket League gamers are banging their heads against the wall wondering when Stage 2 will be unlocked.

How to Unlock Stage 2 Challenges in Rocket League
And the answer is, fortunately or unfortunately, no better than soon. According to an article by Psyonix, Season Challenges will be unlocked “gradually” — implying they are time gated to be released periodically through the season.
With the season about three months long, if we divide that equally into four stages we can estimate that each stage could be released every 3 weeks. If that’s the case, we can expect Stage 2 to unlock automatically any day now.
So, keep your fingers crossed, and try to find something else to pass the time. Like, you know, playing Rocket League or something.
