It has taken them ages, but Razer has finally announced plans to push Android Pie to the original Razer device.

For a device that cost $699 at launch, the original Razer Phone has been excruciatingly slow at receiving updates.

While the Razer Phone 2 got its Pie update in February, the original Razer Phone is still running July 2018’s security patch.

But fortunately, the wait for Android 9.0 seems to be nearly over, as the company finally revealed that they were about to roll out the update for the original Razer Phone in the coming weeks.

In the Razer subreddit, a Razer marketing team member wrote:

We will release an Android Pie upgrade – which includes Android security updates – for the original Razer Phone in coming weeks. We thank all our fans for their support and patience. We are also sharing the above info with the media.

The update is long overdue, and we hope Razer lives up to its promise as soon as possible.
