As you look into each clan and their best synergies, you will realise that most clans are based on your breathing style. The tier list is based on how you can use the breathing style relative to your personal abilities and breathing style.

C-tier – Yahaba, Susumaru, Sabito, and Makomo
Starting with C-tier clans, we have Yahaba, Susumaru, Sabito, and Makomo. C-tier clans are rare to roll, with a 12% chance. These clans have a basic DPS playstyle and can easily be a good early-game roll for quick progression. Specific to the Water breathing style, the Sabito clan is an early mastery bet with +10% Water breathing mastery. Water breathing is an easy-to-learn style with minimal unlock requirements; players mostly unlock it in the first few games. Sabito clan provides minor stat boosts up to 5% to stamina, sword mastery, and movement abilities.
Next in C-tier is the Makomo clan, which is not supported by a specific breathing style. It is an independent clan with minor stat boosts. The main focus here is to provide early-game clan stability, control over movements, and DPS.
Susumaru and Yahaba clans are a little more efficient when it comes to boosting stamina and sword mastery. Both provide around a 6% boost overall. While Yahaba provides the arrow-ranging and zoning manipulation, Susumaru is more focused on an early-game Demon build progression.

Pro tip: When you team up with a friend playing Susumaru and Yahaba clans, together you both can receive bonus buffs while fighting a boss or clearing a quest. This helps with early-game team management and lookout.
B tier – Shabana, Tamayo, Tomioka, Ubuyashiki, and Urokodaki
In B-tier clans, we have a solid lineup ranging from ally-zone buffs to improved breathing style boosts. B-tier clans include Shabana, Tamayo, Tomioka, Ubuyashiki, and Urokodaki.

Shabana and Tamayo clans are best suited for PvE support and raid clashes. Legendary rarity clan, Shabana, provides the ally-zone stat buffs during raids with a +25% damage factor, while Tamayo supports +125 healing, +115 stamina cooldowns, and +4/5 enemy debuffs. Both of these B-tier clans are best suited for multiplayer play and quick rank-ups.
Urokodaki is another water breathing build, similar to the Sabito clan. But placed in B-tier, Urokodaki brings a perfect baseline passive damage boost. It grants +95 health, +85 stamina, +2 Sword Mastery, and +25% Water Breathing Mastery.
Tomioka and Ubuyashiki are two legendary clans with a 15% roll chance. Each of them grants a special skill. Tomioka is built around Indomitable Will and high-utility skill cooldown resets. It provides +85 health, +2 Block Points, and +90 Stamina. Ubuyashiki is built around 0.3x EXP Party bonuses and the Soothing Voice skill, which provides block-ignoring, guard-breaking damage.
B-tier clans are good to chase during your progression from early to mid-game. If you want to make the most of these clans, always pair up with the Tamayo clan. In multiplayer games, Tamayo clans are best suited for improved heals and stamina refills!

For Project Slayers 2 A-tier clans, there are four Mythic rarity clans with a roll chance of 5-8%. These are rare finds and are mostly obtained after you surpass 50 levels in game. Shinazugawa, Iguro, Doma, and Himejima are the clans that land in A-tier, and for all the right reasons.
You can pick Iguro, which provides a Serpent Breathing buff and Max-HP damage upon summoning the Kaburamaru snake. It also provides +120 Health, +105 Stamina, and overall 16% stat buffs. Pair it with the Doma clan, which is a duelist-centric build with 15% damage reduction and a +135 stamina boost. You can use clone swapping and auto-dodges when using the Doma clan in Project Slayers 2.
Shinazugawa and Himejima are +135 health-granting clans, making them some of the most picked clans in the current meta. Shinazugawa provides 25% Katana Mastery, the Windstorm Vigor skill buff, and poisonous blood tools. Himejima provides +10% block regen, which allows damage restoration and amplification at the same time, across all modes. Additionally, it gives +17% damage factor, +2% damage reduction, and +90 stamina.
In the A-tier, pairing Himejima and Doma is a recipe for a clear win and steal. It makes EXP farming and breathing style mastery a cakewalk.

These are the game-changers and are highly farmed clans, which makes them the current meta runners. Agatsuma, Kocho, Soyama, Uzui, and Rengoku are the S-tier clans offering unmatched stat and build multipliers.
You can pick Kamado or Agatsuma if you want element-specific playstyles and the best stat boosts. Kamado gives +175 health, +130 Stamina, and a 23% damage factor, along with Sunlight immunity for Demon builds. Agatsuma, on the other hand, gives +160 health, +120 stamina, a 20% damage factor, and God Speed mode for the Thunder breathing style.
If defense and combo manipulation are your focus, Uzui and Soyoama provide elite options. Uzui functions as a top-tier hybrid with +165 health, +135 stamina, +21% damage factor, auto-dodges, auto-blocks, and poison resistance; Soyama counters with +170 health, +128 stamina, +22% damage factor, a free counter move, and combo-extending stuns that leave opponents helpless in 1v1 fights.
Kocho and Rengoku sit at the absolute top. Kocho offers complete poison immunity, insect damage buffs, and stacking poison debuffs for dedicated status users. Rengoku takes the crown as the highest DPS clan in the game with +185 health, +125 stamina, 26% damage factor, burn-enhanced M1s, damage reflection, and immunity to key combos during fights.
In the S-tier, landing Rengoku or Kamado is an absolute game-changer. It makes boss raids, PvP duels, and endgame progression effortless.
Which clan should you get first in Project Slayers 2?
For early game, target Urokodaki or Sabito along with the Water Breathing style to host a solid, strong baseline and build on it by switching to Tamayo or Ubuyashiki. This transition gives a smooth way into the mid-game, where you can aim to go for A-tier and S-tier clans.
If you want to become a demon in Slayers 2, Kamado is the best clan to go with. It has high health, a stamina boost, and increased damage factor, coupled with Sunlight immunity, making it a perfect fit. Susumaru can be your initial clan when you start building towards Demon.
If you want to focus on PvP or PvE, go with Soyama and Uzui in mid-game, and aim for Rengoku in late-game. Agatsuma and Himejima are strong options depending on your breathing style and balance of DPS.
The bottom line is that getting a high-rarity clan comes with your personal combat approach as well; you should always look for passives when dealing with clan types in the long run.
