In Palworld 1.0, the new Blazamut spawn sits on the new volcanic island on the right side of the map, while the older Alpha Blazamut is still found inside Scorching Mineshaft southwest of Foot of the Volcano.
There are now two very different ways to run into Blazamut, and mixing them up is why people spend an hour combing the wrong lava field. The 1.0 update added fresh islands to the map, and one of them on the right side carries a wild Blazamut habitat you can walk up to and catch. The Alpha Blazamut everyone has been fighting since launch is a separate encounter entirely, tucked inside a cave in the old volcanic region.

Both Blazamut spawns in Palworld
| Location | What it is |
|---|---|
| New volcanic island (right side of the map) | Wild 1.0 habitat, above level 45, the only place this new spawn appears |
| Scorching Mineshaft | Level 49 Field Alpha Boss, inside a cave southwest of Foot of the Volcano |
| No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary | Older wild spawn on the northeastern island, needs a flying Pal |
| Huge Scorching Egg | Hatches Blazamut in an Egg Incubator, obtainable from the world or a Breeding Farm |
The new one is a plain wild spawn. You fly to the new volcanic island on the right side of the map, spot Blazamut standing out in the open, and throw a sphere at it. No cave, no boss arena, no coordinates to memorize. The habitat is exclusive to that island, so if you are sweeping the main volcanic biome you are looking in the wrong place.
The Scorching Mineshaft Blazamut is the level 49 Field Alpha Boss, a Fire-element Pal that sits inside a mine southwest of the Foot of the Volcano fast travel point. It hits harder, it is weak to Water, and it is a fight before it is a capture. Both routes end with a Blazamut in your party, so pick whichever suits your gear.
How to reach the new Blazamut spawn and catch it in Palworld
The new habitat is a short flight and a single sphere throw once you know which island to land on.
STEP 1/6
Fly to a new volcanic island
The 1.0 update added new islands, and Blazamut’s new habitat is on one of them rather than the main volcanic biome.

STEP 2/6
Pick Blazamut out of the biome
It is a large, unmistakable Fire Pal that reads instantly against the rock, so you do not need to hunt for a spawn marker.

STEP 3/6
Load up on high-tier spheres
KEY!The wild Blazamut here is above level 45, so bring Legendary Spheres or Ultimate Spheres rather than anything lower.
STEP 4/6
Equip your capture ring
Slot in a ring that helps your throw before you commit, then approach.

STEP 5/6
Head to the right-side biome
The habitat is limited to the right side of that island and appears nowhere else on the map.

STEP 6/6
Throw the Legendary Sphere
A Legendary Sphere is enough to land the catch here, and you can take both spawns in the same trip.

What to pack before the throw
| Item | Use |
|---|---|
| Legendary Sphere | Main capture sphere for the new island spawn |
| Ultimate Sphere | Backup throw for a stubborn catch or the level 49 Alpha |
| Heat-resistant clothing | Stops volcanic heat damage on the Scorching Mineshaft route |
| Torch or Fire Pal | Lights the mine tunnels on the way to the boss arena |
| Water Pals | Counters Alpha Blazamut, which is weak to Water |
| Capture ring | Equip in your accessory slot before you throw |
Sphere tier is the one thing you cannot fudge. Anything above level 45 laughs off mid-tier spheres, so top up on Legendary Spheres before you leave base and keep Ultimate Spheres in reserve if you have the materials for them. A capture ring in your accessory slot is worth equipping too, since the throw is the whole encounter on the island route.
The Scorching Mineshaft trip asks for more. It runs through the volcanic region and then a dark mine, so heat protection is mandatory unless you enjoy watching your health bar drain while you walk. Bring Water Pals for the Alpha fight, because that is the element it folds to fastest.
Catch the island Blazamut before you ever touch the mineshaft — it is a plain wild spawn with no boss fight attached, so a stack of Legendary Spheres gets you the same Pal without the level 49 brawl.
Blazamut’s work suitabilities
Blazamut carries Kindling level 6 and Mining level 7, which is exactly why the new island is worth the flight. Mining 7 is base-carrying territory — one Blazamut on ore duty replaces a small pile of lesser miners, and the Kindling rating means it doubles as your furnace and refinery Pal instead of forcing you to keep a dedicated Fire type around.
That combination is what makes catching one early matter more than the fight itself. You are not grabbing a trophy, you are grabbing the Pal that runs your ore and smelting lines for the rest of the run.
Finding Alpha Blazamut in Scorching Mineshaft
This is the older, established encounter, and it is still live in 1.0. The catch is that the boss does not stand in the overworld waiting for you — the arena is inside a cave, so what you are actually hunting is the mine entrance.
STEP 1/5
Fast travel to Foot of the Volcano
This is the closest teleport point to the mine and the anchor for the whole route.
STEP 2/5
Head southwest from the teleporter
Move toward the nearby mountain, in the area around -434, -531 (some maps read it as -436, -529, so treat that as a search radius rather than a pin).
STEP 3/5
Look for the cave entrance, not the boss icon
The Scorching Mineshaft opening is a yellow-lit hole in the rock, and the map icon will not put you on top of Blazamut.
STEP 4/5
Push through the tunnels
The mine is dark, so carry a torch or a Fire Pal and keep moving until the passage opens into the boss arena.
STEP 5/5
<
p class=”vg-step-title” id=”fight-the-level-49-alpha” style=”margin:16px 0 6px”>Fight the level 49 Alpha
Blazamut is a Fire-element Field Alpha Boss weak to Water, so lead with Water Pals and keep heat resistance on.

Other ways to add Blazamut to your team
Before the new island existed, the reliable wild spot was No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary on the northeastern edge of the map. It is still there and it still works, though you need a flying Pal to reach it and Blazamut is only one of several high-level Pals that can roll into the spawn pool. If it is not on the island when you land, fly out far enough to drop the area from render range and come back to reroll the spawns.
The no-combat option is hatching one. A Huge Scorching Egg in an Egg Incubator can produce Blazamut, and you can either find those eggs out in the world or produce them at a Breeding Farm once you have a suitable pair. It is slower than a flight to the island, but it is the path that scales if you want more than one.
Mistakes that send players to the wrong volcano
The big one is searching the main volcanic biome. The new habitat is on one of the islands added in the 1.0 update, on the right side of the map, and Blazamut does not appear in the main volcanic region as part of this new spawn. Sweeping Mount Obsidian for it is wasted time.
The second is treating the two Blazamuts as one location. The wild island spawn and the Scorching Mineshaft Alpha are separate encounters with separate requirements, so a guide pointing you at the mine is not out of date — it is just describing the other route. Decide which one you are doing before you take off.
Last, do not hold the mineshaft coordinates too tightly. The numbers floating around for the entrance land anywhere between -433, -531 and -436, -529, and they all describe the same hole in the same mountainside. Walk the area southwest of Foot of the Volcano and look for the entrance with your eyes rather than trying to stand on an exact pin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the new Blazamut location in the main volcanic biome?
No. It is on one of the new volcanic islands added in the 1.0 update, on the right side of the map, and the habitat exists nowhere else. The main volcanic biome is a different place.
Where is the Alpha Blazamut boss cave?
Inside Scorching Mineshaft, southwest of the Foot of the Volcano fast travel point, around -434, -531. Look for the cave entrance in the rock rather than heading straight for the boss icon on the map.
Can Blazamut still spawn at No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary?
Yes. Blazamut remains a possible wild spawn at No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary on the northeastern edge of the map. You need a flying Pal to get there, and you can reroll the spawns by leaving render range and returning.
What level is Blazamut in these locations?
The wild Blazamut on the new island is above level 45. The Alpha Blazamut in Scorching Mineshaft is a level 49 Field Alpha Boss.
What spheres should I use to catch Blazamut?
Legendary Spheres or Ultimate Spheres. A Legendary Sphere handles the island spawn cleanly, and anything below that tier will not stick at these levels.
