Palworld 1.0 has several powerful Ground Pals, but Knocklem, Anubis, Moldron, Sekhmet, and Prixter stand out for very different reasons.

Palworld 1.0 significantly expanded the Ground roster, adding several new Pals alongside major changes to work suitability and combat balance. That makes choosing the “strongest” Ground Pal less straightforward than simply comparing Attack stats. The best choice depends on whether you care most about combat, boss fights, mining, crafting, or team support.

Strongest Ground Pals in Palworld 1.0

The ranking below is best viewed as an overall-performance ranking rather than a strict Attack-stat ranking. Palworld 1.0 gives several Ground Pals powerful niche abilities that can make them better than a supposedly stronger Pal in the right situation.

1. Knocklem is the strongest all-round Ground Pal

Knocklem takes the top spot because it combines excellent combat potential with some of the best base utility available to a Ground Pal. It has 110 Attack and 135 Defense, giving it an unusually durable stat profile before Partner Skills, passives, condensing, or other bonuses are taken into account.

Its biggest advantage is Steel Guardian Mode. When activated, the Partner Skill increases Knocklem’s Attack and Defense, with the maximum condensed level reaching +200% Attack and +200% Defense for the limited duration of the effect.

That makes a fully developed Knocklem dramatically more threatening than its base stats suggest. It can absorb punishment while continuing to deal heavy damage, which is particularly useful in difficult late-game encounters.

Knocklem is also valuable outside combat. Current 1.0 data lists it with Gathering Lv.4, Mining Lv.7, and Transporting Lv.7, making it an extremely useful worker for resource-heavy bases.

This combination is what separates Knocklem from many other Ground Pals. You aren’t investing in a Pal that becomes irrelevant when you return to your base.

2. Anubis remains one of the most versatile Ground Pals

Anubis is arguably the easiest Pal on this list to recommend because it performs well in both combat and base management.

Its base stats include 120 HP, 130 Attack, and 100 Defense, while its current 1.0 work suitability reaches Handiwork Lv.6, Mining Lv.6, and Transporting Lv.4.

That high Attack makes Anubis a capable combat Pal, but its Partner Skill is what gives it another layer of usefulness. Guardian of the Desert lets Anubis convert the player’s attacks to Ground damage while also increasing the player’s Attack when activated. It can additionally perform a quick evasive sidestep during combat.

Anubis also has several strong Ground attacks, including Sand Tornado and its exclusive Spinning Roundhouse. The latter is listed with 300 power in current 1.0 data, giving Anubis considerable burst potential at close range.

Its combination of combat strength and high-level work suitability is why Anubis remains one of the most valuable Ground Pals even after the 1.0 changes.

3. Moldron and Moldron Cryst bring different elemental advantages

Moldron is a Fire/Ground Pal, while Moldron Cryst is an Ice/Ground variant introduced as part of the 1.0 expansion. Moldron can be found around Mount Obsidian, while Moldron Cryst has high-level World Tree content associated with it.

The two variants are worth separating because they serve different combat purposes.

Moldron’s Magma Overload Partner Skill increases its Attack based on the number of Fire or Ground Pals in your party. Current 1.0 data lists the bonus scaling from 4% to 8% per qualifying Pal, making it particularly interesting for teams built around the same elemental theme.

Moldron Cryst takes a different approach. It combines Ice and Ground elements and has 125 Attack and 120 Defense, while its Ice Overload Partner Skill improves Ice damage against enemy weak points for the player and Pals.

That gives Moldron Cryst more value when you are specifically building around Ice damage or facing enemies where that elemental advantage matters.

Neither version is as universally useful as Knocklem or Anubis, but both can become highly effective when their elemental strengths are built into the rest of your party.

4. Sekhmet is a specialist that can transform your base

Sekhmet is an unusual entry because it is not primarily being ranked for raw combat power. Its real strength is its interaction with Anubis and base production.

Sekhmet is a Ground Pal with Handiwork Lv.6, Mining Lv.3, and Transporting Lv.2. Its Desert Empress Partner Skill increases the work speed of Anubis Pals stationed at the base.

At the highest Partner Skill level, the Anubis work-speed bonus reaches 40%. Sekhmet also gains a separate efficiency bonus when it is personally working at a Workbench, Workshop, or related facility. Current database information shows this effect scaling as high as 400% at the maximum skill level.

This distinction is important because the 400% figure is often misunderstood. It is not simply a 400% Attack or general combat increase. Sekhmet’s major value comes from its work-related mechanics.

There is also an important correction to the common claim that Alpha Sekhmet is automatically the better combat version. Current Palworld Wiki data states that there is no normal overworld Alpha Sekhmet encounter, although Alpha drops can appear through other acquisition mechanics.

For a crafting-heavy base using multiple Anubis workers, however, Sekhmet can be an exceptional addition.

5. Prixter and Prixter Lux are built around boss-fight support

Prixter is a Dark/Ground Pal, while Prixter Lux combines Electric and Ground. They are less about being straightforward bruisers and more about giving your team a specific offensive advantage.

Prixter’s Poison-focused Partner Skill is particularly useful in teams built around poison application. While Prixter is in the party, it increases damage dealt to enemies affected by Poison. The current effect begins at 50% increased damage and scales higher through condensation, although the effect does not stack with itself.

Prixter Lux provides a completely different option. Its Scorpion Longwave Partner Skill changes the player’s attack type to Electric and increases Attack. At the first level the bonus is 30%, scaling to 50% at maximum Partner Skill level.

This makes Prixter Lux especially interesting when you are constructing a boss-specific team rather than looking for a single Pal that does everything.

How to build a strong Ground-type team around these Pals

A strong Ground-focused team does not necessarily mean filling all five slots with Ground Pals. Palworld’s combat system rewards combining Partner Skills, elemental matchups, and specialized roles.

For a general-purpose Ground setup, Knocklem and Anubis are the safest core choices. Knocklem gives you a durable heavy hitter, while Anubis provides strong offensive pressure and excellent utility.

Moldron can then be used when you want an additional offensive element through its Fire/Ground combination. Moldron Cryst is more appropriate when you want Ice-based damage instead.

Sekhmet makes more sense as a base-focused addition rather than a dedicated combat slot. If your main goal is crafting, production, or maximizing Anubis workers, its value rises considerably.

Prixter and Prixter Lux are more specialized. They become particularly attractive when you are deliberately building around Poison or Electric damage rather than simply looking for the highest raw combat stats.

Which Ground Pal should you use?

Palworld 1.0 has made Ground Pals much more varied than simply being mining or rock-damage specialists. Knocklem is the standout all-rounder, Anubis offers the best blend of combat and base utility, Moldron and Moldron Cryst provide elemental specialization, Sekhmet dramatically improves production-focused setups, and Prixter variants shine in carefully constructed boss teams.

The best choice ultimately depends on what you want your team to do. For raw overall value, pick Knocklem; for versatility, pick Anubis; and for specialized team or base builds, the other three can be more effective.
