Oppo R1x, the global variant of R1c launches globally in April

Oppo is a Chinese based electronic manufacturer whose phones have always had this distinctive premium look about them. The company launched its stunning smartphone, Oppo R1C in China in the month of January for $400. Well, most of us were really disappointed that we couldn’t get our hands on this device. But now, there’s good news for all of us as the smartphone is going to be launched worldwide in the month of April!

However, this time the company has preferred to change the name of the R1’s variant from Oppo R1C to Oppo R1X. This is one brilliant device which is crafted out of metal and features a sapphire glass panel at the back. What makes this device stand out is that the panel can reflect light differently in separate areas. This is due to the UV embossing of the layer under the glass which gives color to the panel.

And as for the other specifications of the device, you need not worry as nothing will be changed when it goes on sale worldwide. The new device boasts of a 5-inch Pixel Eye HD screen and will be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 SoC that will be accompanied by four Cortex-A53 CPU cores, clocked at 1.7GHz while there will be another four at 1.0 GHz.

On the storage front the phone will be equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage which can be enhanced further up to 128GB via a microSD slot. The front of the R1x sports a 5MP camera for selfies while the back of the device has a 13MP camera with LED flash. The phone also features a 2420mAh battery.

Oppo R1x will hit the store shelves in sapphire blue and ice white colors by the end of April 2015. As yet there are no details on the pricing of the phone.
