OnePlus announces Oxygen OS, but doesn’t gives us a look

It’s February 12 and the new Oxygen OS for OnePlus One was supposed to be released today, at-least that’s what we thought when OnePlus set the release date for Oxygen OS to today. But it seems, today was only to make the Oxygen OS more official and letting the users know about the team working behind the new OS.

Oxygen OS Team

Well, OnePlus, we’re glad to meet the team. Most of them seem to be from Paranoid Android, which is exciting to know since PA was increasingly muting out the CyanogenMod ROM with its innovative new features. Paranoid Android has so much contributed to the after market firmware development community like CyanogenMod did, and that makes it exciting to learn more about the Oxygen OS, to see what the PA team has in store for a commercial product.

For those of us looking to download the Oxygen OS, well, we gotta wait for a few weeks more as the Lollipop based ROM is still undergoing tests.

There are various certifications that must be completed before releasing a Lollipop-based ROM, and this takes some time. We’ve decided to move forward with a fully-stable build, which is currently in the testing phase. Because this is our first major software release, we have to ensure that everything is solid and stable before making it available for download. We wouldn’t ask you to settle for anything less, and we appreciate your patience.

If you’ve questions about the new Oxygen OS or would like to interact with the team behind, OnePlus is doing a reddit AMAA on r/Android at 8AM PST.
