18 days! That’s all the time it took OnePlus to release the stable Android 10 update for its 2019 flagships given Google did that itself on Sep 3 only. Sure, Essential rolled it out on the same day, and Xiaomi too (albeit for one device only), but this is different, and this clearly shows OnePlus is light years ahead of Samsung, LG, Motorola, Huawei and other OEMs when it comes to software updates.
Coming in as OxygenOS 10 OS, the update is already rolling out right now for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro while the last year’s flagship in OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T wait for their turn. The OxygenOS 10-cum-Android 10 update should be available for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T too down the line.
With OxygenOS 10 update, you get all the goodness that Android 10 brings (features list here), plus some custom additions of its own too. OnePlus has added new features like Game Space, Smart display, block Spam messages by a keyword, etc. to OxygenOS 10, while you also get new features Bubbles, Live Captions, full-screen Gestures, Dark theme, Smart Reply, better Privacy, better Share menu, Adaptive notifications, etc. from stock Android 10 OS upgrade.
