OnePlus announced the latest OnePlus 5T recently with a larger bezel-less display and improved cameras. The company has already confirmed that the smartphone will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo in early 2018.

Everyone hoped that OnePlus would launch the OnePlus 5T with Android Oreo on board, but it came with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. That minor disappointment aside, the 5T is a really good phone. It has got the Snapdragon 835 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, a fingerprint sensor at the back, large battery, and OxygenOS is pretty much bare-bone Android.

Check out: OnePlus Oreo update release date

The company has already released the stable Oreo update for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. And late last month, they also seeded the first Oreo Open beta for the OnePlus 5. The software for both OnePlus 5 and 5T are similar, so we can expect the first beta for the latter to arrive anytime.

The Android 8.0 Oreo update includes several new features such as Picture-in-Picture mode, Notification Dots, new UI for Quick Settings, Text autofill, new design for App folders, and much more.

OnePlus 5T Oreo Update: When to expect

Since the OnePlus 5 has already received the first Oreo beta, the OnePlus 5T should be getting it very soon. The promised date for the beta was early December, and since we are in that time-frame at the moment, the beta could even arrive this week.

The last update for the OnePlus 5T included the patch for the KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability, improved Face unlock, Fingerprint unlock, EIS when filming in 4K, and accuracy for the screen-off gestures.

Bottom line, the OnePlus 5T Oreo update will arrive in early January 2018. We will let you know when the first Open beta is released.
