It’s no secret that OnePlus 5 will get Android Oreo update. Although OnePlus hasn’t revealed the exact date for the release of Android Oreo update for OnePlus 5, we have been lucky enough to spot OnePlus 5 running Android Oreo.
No, it’s not on any users device, you would have to wait for that but OnePlus 5 has been spotted on Geekbench running Android Oreo 8.0. If all goes well, OnePlus 5 would soon get to taste Android Oreo.

While OnePlus has confirmed that OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will receive Android Oreo and of course OnePlus 5, OnePlus 2 users won’t enjoy the same blessing. And that’s not all, recently, OnePlus released a beta build of Android 8.0 for a select few users of OnePlus 3 and we expect OnePlus to release the stable build in the coming months.
If you are a OnePlus 3T user, you can root your OnePlus 3T to install Oreo unofficially until you get the official update from OnePlus. Don’t worry OnePlus 5 users, we have a something for you too.
Thanks To LineageOS 15 ROM, you can now install Android Oreo on your OnePlus 5 too. Android Oreo brings features such as autofill for apps, picture in picture mode etc.
