OnePlus raised a few eyebrows when it released the August security update for its OnePlus 7 Pro even before Google rolled out the same update for its Pixel devices. Keeping up with that the company released the August patch for OnePlus 7, and even the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Now, OnePlus is turning its attention to the OnePlus 5 and 5T, both of which are being treated with August security update right now via OxygenOS 9.0.8 update.
The last update in 9.0.7 brought some great features to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users. They got Fnatic mode, screen recorder, quick reply support and some more in that update but sadly today’s update in 9.0.8 version of the OxygenOS lacks any such new features.
With OxygenOS 9.0.8, you get the latest security patch, but besides that, it’s all about bugfixes, which is not bad. The new update quickens the screenshot taking experience, and optimizes the visual effects of Zen mode as well as adding the duration feature to the app.
OnePlus is doing well in updating its 2+ years old flagships in OnePlus 5 and 5T with all the new features and such, but they may also release Android Q update for the two devices. Google rolled out the final version of Android Q beta today, with the promise that the stable version will be out in next few weeks, so here’s a hoping that it doesn’t OnePlus a lot of time in readying their own Android Q-based Open Beta update for OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7, with the promise of quick rollout for OnePlus 6 and 6T.
