Transfer both Odin and firmware file to a separate folder on your computer just to keep things tidy. You guys are great! I managed to nicely debrand my Samsung. I bought it new and it was branded with loads of cr*p from our local polish network PLAY. I had some problems finding a clean stock Samsung 4.3 firmware. But I finally paid for it, some few cents (2.80 in our local currency). I downloaded it, ran Odin and started debranding. It took about 10 minutes and as you said, it restarted, Samsung applied some updates and voila! All is fine. Even contacts and wallpaper were not wiped out. All has been kept, WiFi Passwords, games, even wakeup call!

It says it works fine, but nothing is fixed or changed. Once it boots up everything is exactly the same – including all the problems I am trying to fix (like insert SIM error caused by underlying null/null IMEI). The “Custom binary download” counter is not reset either – as other posts about restoring factory suggest should happen. Once I FINALLY get this sorted, I will have to triangle away… Arrgh!! Any help would be appreciated to help restore factory defaults!!!
