It is being reported that Huawei has released a new software update for the Honor 9N phone. However, it is not the much-awaited EMUI 9.0 update but rather a security patch update that brings the phone’s security level up to November 2018, according to the changelog of the update.

The update bears software version LLD-AL20 8.0.0.131 (C675) and its size is 112MB. This update can be downloaded directly from your phone once you receive a notification regarding its availability. If you haven’t received a notification yet, you may search for updates manually through the settings app.

Recently, the November fix was also released for the Honor 8 Pro phone as well, since most Honor 9N users were looking forward to an update to EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9 Pie, this latest update might leave some of them a little disappointed. However, the update clearly isn’t ready yet and may arrive on the phone in Q1 next year.

Meanwhile, Huawei will be testing EMUI 9.0 atop Android Pie on the Honor 8X phone through a beta program beginning in China next week. So, the day might not be too far away when the Honor 9N is also tested with EMUI 9.0 atop Pie beta build.
