Sony has already started seeding the Nougat update for Xperia Z5 in many regions, but not Australia. That should change now. As Sony will soon be rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Xperia Z5 devices in the country. A look at the software update list for devices on Vodafone Australia reveals that they are now awaiting software testing for Android 7.0 OS for Xperia Z5 version from Sony.
This means that Sony is about to roll out the Nougat beta software for Xperia Z5. Once rolled out, the testing should be completed within 1-2 weeks, based on the usual general time period. And if all things fall in place, the stable Nougat build for Xpeia Z5 will be out within a month.

We know that early this month, Sony resumed the the Nougat roll out for the Xperia Z5 series, the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet devices, which it had halted due to various bugs/issues, including audio playback via third-party apps. The Android 7.0 Nougat roll-out arrives as build 32.3.A.0.376 and hopefully fixes all the bugs found in the previous Nougat release which had a build number 32.3.A.0.372.
Sony has also started pushing out February security update to a handful of its devices namely Xperia XZ, X Performance, Xperia X and X Compact. The latest firmware update comes with Google security patches.
