Names of a few unreleased Nokia smartphones were recently spotted when digging through the latest version of the Nokia Camera app. HMD Global recently released an update to the Camera app that’s present in the Nokia 5 Oreo beta.

When digging through the apk file, Nokiamob discovered some new Nokia devices namely Nokia 4 and Nokia 7 Plus. They seem to fit Nokia’s smartphone line-up very well. Along with these two unreleased smartphones, other announced phones such as the Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 7, and Nokia 8 were present in the list.

The Nokia 4 could be a mid-range device and the Nokia 7 Plus is probably an improved variant of the Nokia 7 that may be sold in certain regions only. We’re not sure what to make of this, and it is possible that Nokia may not release these. However, the details were found on an official Nokia app, so this could be the real deal.

Known but unreleased phones such as the flagship Nokia 9, and also the low-end Nokia 1 were included in this list. This means that Nokia and HMD Global will be released at least 4 new devices this year. The company could make the announcement during the Mobile World Congress in February.

Apart from that, the APK also revealed details about improvements coming to the Camera app, including a Pro mode. This seems to be different from the Manual mode and should provide finer controls to users. Anyway, we will have to wait another month to see if these leaks turn out to be true.
