The highly anticipated re-imagined Need for Speed Most Wanted was released for PC and consoles today, and now EA has also released the Android version on the Google Play Store, unexpectedly at the same time as the iOS version.
Players can drive and customize over 35 of the world’s “most exciting cars” as they run from cops and race against other players (via EA’s Origin service which allows cross-platform multiplayer), with the ability to control cars either via tilt or touch controls. Lots of mods are available for getting the most out of the cars you own, as is the norm for games in the Need for Speed franchise. As for the graphics, they are quite good, and feature real-time reflections on the cars and full damage modelling (allowing for great visual takedowns).
The game takes around 1.7 GB of space, so make sure more than 2 GB of space is available on your device. Tegra 3 device owners are reporting framerate issues, which seems to be a normal occurrence with many HD games, but the game runs smooth on even modestly powered devices like the Xperia U or the Galaxy Nexus.
NFS Most Wanted will set you back $6.99 and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store by clicking on the appropriate links below. Go show those cops what you’re made of!
