There’s a new update rolling out to each of the Huawei Honor 7X and Huawei Nova 2i, which is sold globally as the Huawei Mate 10 Lite. In addition to installing the latest Android security patch for the month of July 2018, the two devices are also receiving a flurry of new additions and optimizations in the update.
First up is the addition of the company’s GPU Turbo acceleration technology that enhances graphics processing for smoother gaming, but remember to enable Gaming mode in the Game Suite to get the most out of this feature. Online shoppers will also enjoy the new HiTouch feature where simply taping on a product image using two fingers will automatically activate product recognition.

The update also adds Maintenance mode to HiCare for safeguarding your data just in case you have to leave your phone to the experts for maintenance purposes. The Gallery app now auto-stores photos that are deleted in third-party apps in Recently deleted, where you can even restore them. For those who enjoy editing photos before sharing them, the new update also optimizes effects for certain filters for better results.

Note that the changelog is same for both Huawei Honor 7X and Nova 2i and given the latter only gets a new name in other markets, we also expect the same update to arrive on the Huawei Mate 10 Lite. Oh, the Mate 10 Lite is known as Honor 9i in India, so we also expect this update to come to this device in the near future.
