New Huawei Honor 9 image leak shows device running on ‘Magic Live’, not EMUI

After Honor Magic smartphone which was released at the beginning of this year looks like Huawei has found its new guinea pig for Magic Live UI in the form of upcoming Honor 9 device.

According to the latest leak on Weibo, posted by the popular tipster, Kumamoto Technology, the upcoming device will run on Magic Live UI and not Huawei’s EMUI. Huawei custom skin so far has been EMUI, however, that seems to change to Magic Live with the Honor 9, if this leak is to be believed.

Magic Live as the name suggests is kind of magical or should we say has a built-in artificial intelligence. It is more customized than EMUI 5.0 and brings in features such as automatically generated lock screen shortcut key based on one’s daily habit.

Having said that, the Magic Live UI kind of resembles iOS viz. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and you get an iOS-like shortcut screen. Interestingly, while EMUI was trying to move towards standard Android feel, Magic Live UI is going in the opposite direction.

Honor 9 is all set to release on June 12, at an event to be held in China at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. The smartphone is expected to feature 5.15-inch TFT Full HD display with curved display and octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz.
