A few days ago, we heard about a new build of Lollipop, Android 5.1, which although unannounced by Google, has already hit some devices and is expected to reach others soon. However, giving a look at Android 5.1 led us to conclude that it’s more of a bug fix than anything else with Google introducing a couple of improved tid-bits and tweaks.
Something that is confirmed — and that we really liked — is the new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggle available in the notification bar. Up until now, tapping any of these toggles in the panel redirected you over to setting but after this update, tapping leads to a drop down menu with a list of all available connections and networks — which (it must be said) is way more convenient.
The above video, made from one of the new Android One devices that shipped with Android 5.1 out of the box, gives us a view at what these modifications look like in real life.
Android 5.1 is expected to be made official by Google sometime next month.
