HTC’s Vice President of Product Management Mo Versi has always been the right person to tell us about the upcoming HTC updates, but this time he’s switching gears and revealing some details about Google’s next Android update.
According to Versi, Google is planning to release the next maintenance release of Android in March this year. The tweet from Versi was in response to a question from a HTC One (M7) user- Jens Christiansen who was looking for fixes to a bug centering around the HTC One (M7) Google Play edition’s capacitive navigation buttons.
Since Versi didn’t specify the version number, we’re not sure which Android update he’s talking about. The new Android 5.1 version of Lollipop was first spotted on Android One devices in Indonesia and then on 2nd Gen. Moto G. But Google has not yet confirmed it with an official release. We would be surprised if Versi is talking about Android 5.1.
@JensEsbjerg It’ll be tied to Google’s next MR, which is in March. Thanks.
