MWC 2015: HTC Grip fitness band announced, price set at $199

Back in January, we reported HTC might be working on a fitness band of some sort. And well, the thing just got real. HTC announced Grip fitness band today at MWC 2015 alongside the announcement of its new flagship One M9.

HTC Grip is similar to fitness bands from Jawbone or Fitbit. It connects seamlessly with Android devices running on Android 4.3+ versions and iPhones running on iOS7 and up. HTC has built the band in partnership with Under Armour and so it syncs well with the company’s UA Record app.

The Grip comes with a 1.8 inch PMOLED display that shows your activity information in black and white text. However, the fitness band is very basic in functionality and doesn’t feature a heart-rate sensor. But, despite that, HTC has gone to price the Grip $199.
