Motorola is pushing a new software update to its last year’s Moto Z Play which makes it the company’s first handset to receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat in the US.
The new update, in addition to the Android 7.1.1 Nougat, brings with it a bunch of other changes which include, security patches and stability improvements among others.
Once you install the update, you will be able to utilize Android 7.1.1 features. The changelog mentions that the update will bring many enhancements to the phone such as new multitasking features, improved notification controls, and better data saver and battery features.

Also, the update installs Duo — Google’s video calling app on your smartphone. Then there are monthly Android security patches until June 1st which gets rid of the system vulnerabilities from your smartphone if any.
As is the case with any software update, there are a bunch of bug fixes and stability improvements. The company has also updated the Moto Mods platform to the version 2.
