Motorola’s 2016 flagship, the Moto Z is now receiving the Nougat update in India and Canada. The OTA update with build version NPL25.86-15 is now rolling out as per schedule.
The update will bring a ton of changes which include a revamped settings menu, modified quick settings toggle, quick reply from the notifications shade and much more. Under the hood, Nougat brings performance improvements to the graphics department and battery performance will also be better with the advancements to Doze feature which has been optimized since its launch on Marshmallow.
The Nougat update for the Moto Z was pegged to be released on December 19th for Canadian users under Telus. Indian users, on the other hand, were treated to Nougat for the Moto G4 and G4 Plus a few weeks back. As for the global variant of the Moto Z, it will be seeing the roll out by next week at the most while the US sets have already had this.
If you’re bored of stock Android and want to add some spice to your Moto Z, CyanogenMod 14.1 is available for the device. Although it is unofficial and may contain a few bugs, it brings in added customization and extra functionality. The official update to CM 14.1 for the Moto Z should be out soon as many smartphones are beginning to see support for CM14 now.
