A Moto G7 Power is in the plans too besides the G7, G7 Plus, and G7 Play, no kidding!

Motorola used to follow a one-phone-per-year routine for its Moto G series when the series was still in its infancy. Beginning with the Moto G4 though, they started the Plus edition too, and that things remained unchanged for the Moto G5 handsets too.

That is, until last year. With the G6 series, the Lenovo-owned company forayed further into the multi-release market with considerable panache by adding a Moto G6 Play to the lineup. While it was expected to do the same for G7, it seems like Lenovo-run Motorola has a few more surprises to pull out this year.

It is now speculated that G7 line-up has as many as four phones (and we thought three Galaxy S10s were too much), which breaks the record set by the G6 Series.

In 2019, Lenovo plans to unveil Moto G7 Power along with the standard, Plus, and Play models of the G7, and that is not all!

There is a revamp coming up! Motorola might even nip the Moto C, Moto M, and Moto X series this year, says Evan Blass on his twitter handle. While we know that rumors are not exactly the feed to go by, Evan is, more often than not, known to have predictions grounded on reality.

So, if the rumors are to be believed, we can expect the Power model to have a large battery along with the detailed information revealed in the alleged Moto G7 spec-sheet.

While it is a surprise that the news for ’19 models has been leaked this early on, if true, it could mean that we can expect a formal announcement at MWC in Barcelona.

Moto G7 specs (rumored)

  • 6.4″ FHD+ display with a water-drop notch
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor.
  • 4/6GB RAM
  • 64/128GB built-in storage (upto 256GB micro SD card)
  • Android Pie 9 OS
  • Dual SIM support
  • 16+5MP rear dual camera
  • 12MP front-facing camera
  • 3500mAh battery

Expect the Moto G7 to feature an inferior spec sheet than above which applies only to the standard Moto G7. The G7 could feature a slightly degraded display, camera, processor and RAM, but might see the battery increased to as much as 4,000 mAh (same as Moto G6 Play).

The Moto G7 Power model though, could give you extra battery, maybe in the range of 4,500 to 5,000 mAh, and still give same hardware as above, thus targeting users who want 1.5-day to 2-day battery life without compromising on camera and performance.

The Moto G7 plus could simply feature a better RAm and storage options, and a slightly superior battery capacity, than the Moto G7.
