The Mi Mix is apparently getting a little brother. It is being dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano, and could feature the same gorgeous over-90% screen to body ratio (technically speaking, it’s lesser in real-world), but this time on a 5.5 inch display, as against the 6.4″ phablet original Mi Mix is.
The smaller screen with same resolution would mean higher pixel density which in turn translates to crispier content on the screen, but that’s not why Mi Mix is going nano, it’s because that size and resulting body size will be favorite of many, many people, who are currently shut away by the Mi Mix’s size.
The Mi Mix nano could pack 4GB RAM, be powered by the current latest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 821 processor, and may house 64GB of built-in storage. The phone will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, not Nougat, speaking of which Xiaomi is soon starting the testing of its alpha build of Mi5 Nougat update. Rest of the details on the specifications are scant.
The Mi Mix features a rock solid body made of ceramic, which made it the most scratch resistant phone in the market. But this came at the cost of body material being brittle and shattering when dropped from small heights, as reported by many unfortunate users. Let’s hope that Xiaomi fixes that issue somehow in the Mi Mix Nano, but even if doesn’t we’d love get our hands on the Mi Mix Nano. Won’t you?
Mi Mix Nano Release Date
As the device has already reached testing stage, think it could hit the retail stores before the end of December 2016.
The Chinese OEMs are quite know for being able to release their devices in pretty short period of time once it’s been conceptualized, so, we won’t be surprised to see it launch in next 45 days.
