The Galaxy A series 2017 lineup, consisting of the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A3 have now touched down on European soil at Portugal. Both devices will be retailing under the Portuguese carrier Meo with the Galaxy priced at EUR 429.99 (Rs. 30,600) and the Galaxy A3 for EUR 329.99 (Rs. 23,500).
The Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A3 are premium devices with the A5 performing better than the latter. The new Galaxy A5 2017 edition features a 16MP front shooter whereas the one on Galaxy A3 has been bumped to 8MP.
The Galaxy A5 2017 is also IP68 dust and water resistant certified but this feature is absent on the Galaxy A3 2017. This is indeed handy for users with a budget lesser than for a flagship. Samsung has made the right choice in bringing it to the A series as we could expect IP68 certification to slowly makes its way to more affordable Samsung devices in the future.

Sadly, we won’t be seeing the devices shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Instead, Samsung will be sticking with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow though we could expect Samsung to bump up the devices to Nougat in the coming few months by the first quarter.
