Looks like the LineageOS team could skip the release of LineageOS 15.0 and skip directly to LineageOS 15.1. The team released a statement on their official website stating this.
So far, there was no details about LineageOS 15.0, which was supposed to based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Yes, you can find several unofficial builds based on Oreo, some even supported by some of the team members. However, there haven’t been any official Oreo builds from the team.
Now, in a recent post about changes to the latest official builds of LineageOS, the company has revealed information regarding Oreo. They are going to skip directly to Android 8.1 builds, as Google has released the same.
Android Oreo update release date
The company has been working on the Android Oreo based LineageOS 15.0, but instead of releasing those builds, they will now merge all their work with the release of LineageOS 15.1. There isn’t any details on when these new builds would start appearing, but we should know more in the next update from Lineage.
