LineageOS 17 released for OnePlus 6 and 6T [update: ZenFone 6 too]

Update [September 13, 2019]: Well, the LineageOS 17 ROM is also available for the Asus ZenFone 6. Interested users can download the Android 10 based LineageOS 17 ROM from here.

Google’s newest OS for mobile devices, Android 10, has rolled out to Pixel devices, but other manufacturers (expect Essential Phone) are yet to roll out the stable version of Android 10 to their devices.

OnePlus has rolled out Android 10 Open Beta 1 to OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro devices and has promised to update the OnePlus 6/6T to Android 10 before the month runs out.

As we’re already halfway through the month, it makes perfect sense to wait and see what the company has in store. However, if you are not willing to wait that long and are eager to have a taste of 10 right away, there’s a pretty reliable alternative in store.

The Android 10-based LineageOS 17.0 has been released for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. LineageOS, if you didn’t know, is a community-built, aftermarket, and free OS, which aims to deliver more features than your stock OS. As it’s fresh on the market, it’s difficult to pinpoint what those improvements are, but we’ll know more in due time.

Disclaimer: Installing a ROM is a risky procedure that if not done properly. can damage your device.
