LG K8 receiving an OTA update with BlueBorne and KRACK fixes

lg k8 update

The LG K8, model number K350n, is receiving a new software update that brings some security improvements and system enhancements to the smartphone. The K8 was launched in April 2016, which makes it almost 2 years old.

Nevertheless, a new update is now available for the device. If you own one, you should see an update notification in the next few days. The update includes the November 2017 Android security patch. It also patches the nasty BlueBorne exploit and the KRACK Wi-Fi exploit as well.

Apart from those security improvements, the update will install the Google Duo video calling app as a system app. The update build number is V10i and it is being delivered over-the-air.

Remember, this update is for the older LG K8, not the 2017 variant. This variant features a MediaTek processor, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 2125mAh battery. Before installing the update, make sure your device has more than 50 percent charge and is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
