The first quarter of each year is one every smartphone fan is always looking forward to. With the usually underwhelming CES gone, fans are now looking forward to the MWC 2019 event that takes place next month.

We already know a good number of OEMs will be in attendance, among them Samsung, Nokia/HMD Global, Xiaomi, Oppo, Sony, and so on. We also know this is an event LG can’t afford to miss and among the products the Korean company is lining up is the LG G8.

Like Samsung that has a Galaxy S10 event on February 20, LG is said to be planning a separate event ahead of the main MWC event. The company will unveil the LG G8 during this event, which is said to be on February 24. This is according to Korean publication ETNews, which adds that the event will begin at 10 AM Korean time.

Like the LG V40 ThinQ, the G8 will reportedly get a tri-lens camera on the back with a 3D function while the display panel swaps the bigger notch for a waterdrop-style notch.

Under the hood, the LG G8 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and support LTE connectivity, but it’s unlikely to include 5G support. We should know more details about this phone in the build-up to the MWC event next month.
