After showering some monthly updates on a few Samsung Galaxy devices, Verizon carrier has turned its attention to LG. Three LG devices on Verizon namely G3, G Vista and K4 have started receiving a new firmware update which installs the February security patch in them.

Verizon is rolling out the monthly security patch as software version VS9854BA to LG G3 while for LG G Vista it arrives as software version VS88027A.

If you happen to be using a LG K4 handset, you will be receiving VS42525A as software version of the update which will give you the most up to date Android security patch on your device.

Along with the regular monthly updates, the new firmware also optimizes device performance, resolves known issues and fixes bugs. Therefore, it is a recommended update.

However, before you start the download, connect your device to a Wi-Fi network and ensure your battery is fully charged. As is the norm, the OTA update will pop up on your device when it hits you. And if that hasn’t happened yet, you can check for it manually by heading to Settings » About device » System Updates.
