LG G Watch R and Watch Urbane get Android Wear 2.0 update

LG G Watch R and Watch Urbane users have finally started to receive the Android Wear 2.0 software update. Several Reddit users have been posting pictures of their G Watch R and Watch Urbane with the update.

Both the G Watch R and the Watch Urbane are old smartwatches, and it’s great that LG is updating them to Android Wear 2.0. The update is based on Android Nougat 7.1.1 and includes several improvements.

Android Wear 2.0 was officially released in February this year, but only a few smartwatches got the update. The first gen Huawei Watch got the update last month. Other watch makers such as Fossil and TAG Heuer have announced connected watches running Android Wear 2.0.

If you’ve got the LG G Watch R or the Watch Urbane, do check for updates manually if you haven’t received it yet. Also, if your watch says it’s on the latest firmware, continue to tap on the green tick and it should get the latest update for you.
