Earlier today the release date for the ZUK Edge was revealed by Lenovo’s Vice President on Weibo. And now we have more leaked images of the ZUK Edge in our hands.

From the images we can see that the back camera has been brought back to the center as it was on the first ZUK Z1, and the Zuk Z2 Pro, to which this device is strikingly same, save for the changes at the bottom. For those who were expecting the smartphone to feature a curved dual Edge display, they will disappointed to find out that only the bezels exists on the phone, only they have been trimmed down.

The top of the phone only features the secondary microphone. The main microphone resides at the bottom on the left of the USB Type-C port. The speaker grill is present on the right as it was on the ZUK Z2. The 3.5mm headphone jack is also present on the bottom of the device.

All in all it’s more reasonable to say that the smartphone bears more resemblance to the ZUK Z2 Pro than anything else. The ZUK Edge is expected to ship in two color variants, black and white. The specifications of the ZUK Edge tells us that the smartphone packs a punch.

But the fact that the smartphone ships with Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box is kind of a bummer, especially when Lenovo’s local competitor Huawei is pushing out Nougat now. The ZUK Edge’s cousin the Z2 Plus on the other hand has received Nougat in the form a leaked firmware download.
