How to Complete the Ninja Challenge
Step 1: Load the Correct Mission

Head to the Batcave computer terminal, navigate to Case Log, and select League of Shadows Returns → A Shadow Over Gotham. This mission must be unlocked by completing all prior story chapters.

Step 2: Understand Stealth Detection Rules
Enemy awareness operates on a three-tier system. When enemies are unaware, their bodies highlight red and a takedown prompt appears overhead.

If partially detected, a question mark appears above their head—immediately retreat to cover.

Full detection triggers an exclamation point, breaking the stealth chain and forcing combat. Always wait for question marks to disappear before re-engaging.
Step 3: Eliminate the First Three Guards (Lower Courtyard)
Drop down to the left-side lower courtyard immediately after spawning. Target the lone guard on the lower level first.

After the silent takedown, grapple back to the upper ledge to avoid detection from nearby patrols. Wait for the guard on the stairs to turn away, then eliminate him and grapple up again. Repeat this pattern for the third guard when he rotates into position.

Step 4: Use the Hackarang to Isolate Clustered Enemies
When facing groups of two or more guards, throw the Hackarang (gadget wheel selection) toward a single target to distract them away from the cluster.

Wait for the isolated guard to walk toward the distraction source, turn their back, then execute the takedown.

Back away immediately after each elimination to prevent peripheral detection.
Step 5: Clear the Right-Side Courtyard
Move to the right courtyard section and use Detective Vision (scan mode) to track patrol routes. Separate tightly grouped enemies by throwing the Hackarang at staggered intervals—targeting the nearest guard first. Maintain distance by backing up through the entrance tunnel if question marks appear. Never rush toward stairs where multiple guards converge.

Step 6: Progress Through the Lower Tunnel Section
After clearing the courtyard, move through the fence gate into the tunnel area.

The first guard at the tunnel’s end is stationary and can be eliminated without setup. For the remaining tunnel guards, lure them down the stairs one at a time using the Hackarang, then wait for them to walk back up the stairs before performing the takedown from behind.

Step 7: Finish With the Final Two Eliminations
Repeat the distraction-and-isolation method for the last two guards in the bottom tunnel section.

Use Detective Vision constantly to prevent accidental line-of-sight exposure. Once the 15th consecutive takedown completes, the challenge automatically registers.
Critical Mistakes to Avoid
-
Sprinting toward enemies from the front triggers instant detection even if they haven’t turned around.
-
Pressing the Focus button before the red highlight appears may break stealth and initiate combat.
-
Skipping Detective Vision scans leaves you blind to patrol rotations and causes accidental reveals.
-
Standing in open areas after takedowns exposes you to peripheral vision from distant guards—always grapple to elevated positions or retreat to cover.
-
Ignoring question marks by continuing to approach a suspicious guard escalates to full detection.
Alternative Farming Location: Chapter 1 Infiltration
If you’re simultaneously working toward the Assassin challenge (200 total stealth takedowns), replay Chapter 1: Infiltration instead. This mission features predictable enemy patrol routes and clean resets, letting you stack both challenges efficiently. Expect 8 to 10 full runs to complete Assassin while knocking out Ninja in a single perfect run.
Skill Upgrades That Accelerate Progress
Invest WayneTech Chips into the Stealth Stud Multiplier skill to dramatically increase stud generation per silent takedown. Unlock the Focus Regeneration on Stealth Takedown upgrade to fill your combat meter passively, preparing you for unavoidable combat encounters after breaking stealth. Both upgrades are accessible through the Workbench in the Batcave.
