To complete the LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Focused Fighter challenge, build a long combo in a big mob encounter and chain 5 Focus Takedowns in one uninterrupted combo streak without getting hit or dropping your combo.

Item Details Notes

Reward 10,000 Studs Claimed from Batcave challenge terminal
Best character Batman or Nightwing with early Focus upgrades Strong crowd control and easy stun setups
Ideal arena Large street mob / combat trial with 15+ enemies More bodies = safer to build Focus
Core mechanic Freeflow-style Focus meter that fills as you hit enemies Works like Arkham Freeflow Takedowns
Key inputs Attack, Counter, Dodge, Gadget mapped to face buttons and triggers on controller Focus Takedown on shoulder button when meter is full
Recommended build Early Focus gain skills + basic crowd-control upgrades Faster Focus, safer combos
Difficulty tip Easier on Normal/Knight rather than Dark Knight Less punishing if you get tagged
Time to clear 1–3 attempts once method is learned Longer if you try in small encounters

Step 1: Enable and track the challenge

Open the Batcave challenge board, scroll to Focused Fighter, and make sure you have it visible so you know when it completes. The challenge board sits at the glowing green computer terminal on the west side of the cave above the Batmobile garage, and rewards are claimed there too. Highlight completed challenges and press the action button to cash in your studs.

Step 2: Pick the right mission and difficulty

Load into a mission or combat trial that spawns a large mob of basic thugs so you can safely farm Focus without running out of enemies. Street encounters and combat trial arenas with 15–20 enemies give you room to build long combos; doing this on Dark Knight difficulty is riskier, so start on a mid-tier difficulty if you just want the challenge done.

Step 3: Use a Focus-friendly character build

Select Batman, Nightwing, or another melee-focused hero with solid crowd control and unlock a few Focus and basic combat upgrades first.

Prioritize faster Focus gain and improved stun or flurry attacks, because these massively speed up how quickly you can trigger repeated Takedowns in a single combo.

Step 4: Learn the stun-to-flurry Focus build

Start your combo by stunning a single enemy, then unloading a rapid flurry of strikes on that same dazed target to build Focus as fast as possible. This Arkham-style stun-then-flurry loop fills the Focus meter much faster than spreading single punches across different enemies, as long as you stay aware of the wider crowd and counter any attackers who try to interrupt.

Step 5: Maintain your combo with counters and dodges

Once the combo begins, never mash blindly: watch for counter icons and use dodge to avoid gunfire or unblockable attacks so your combo does not reset.

Dark Knight-style combat in this game punishes dropped combos heavily, and any hit you take or mistimed counter will reset your streak, meaning your count of Focus Takedowns for the challenge also resets.

Step 6: Trigger your first Focus Takedown

As soon as your Focus meter fills, hit the Focus Takedown button on a standard thug instead of hoarding it. Focus Takedowns instantly remove normal foes and chunk down elites, and the key for this challenge is using them quickly and repeatedly rather than trying to save them for “big guys.”

Step 7: Chain Takedowns 2 to 5 in one streak

After the first Takedown, immediately resume your stun-to-flurry loop on another thug to refill Focus and pop Takedowns 2, 3, 4, and 5 without ever dropping your combo. Focused Fighter specifically tracks five Focus Takedowns within one combo, so you must keep hitting enemies, countering, and avoiding damage the entire time until the fifth cinematic Takedown lands.

Step 8: Finish remaining enemies safely

Once the Focused Fighter completion notification appears, you can drop the combo if needed and clear the arena however you like. Remember to return to the Batcave challenge terminal after finishing your session and manually claim the reward, as progress is tracked live but payouts only happen when you interact with the board.

Critical tips and mistakes to avoid

  • Do not try this in tiny encounters
Small rooms with 5–6 enemies rarely offer enough targets to build Focus five times before everyone is down, making failure likely even if you play perfectly.

  • Avoid elite-heavy waves for your first attempt
Shield and sword enemies are high-threat units; they can break your rhythm if you misplay, so learn the method on thug-heavy mobs first.

  • Never spam attacks without watching the crowd
Arkham-style counter prompts appear just before attacks land; ignoring them to mash attack will almost always lead to a hit and a dropped combo.

  • Watch out for gunfire and uncounterable moves
Some attacks, especially from armed and sword-wielding enemies, must be dodged, not countered, and being greedy for one more flurry hit can cost your entire run.

  • Claim your reward in the Batcave
Challenge systems are time-gated at the Batcave board, meaning you can complete Focused Fighter in the field but will not see the studs until you walk up to the terminal and cash in.

Category Recommendation Why it helps
Character Batman (default) Balanced stats, strong stun and flurry options, and early access to core combat upgrades make Focus building consistent.
Alt character Nightwing or Robin Agile melee-focused heroes who benefit from the same Focus and combo skills if you prefer their move sets.
Key skills Focus gain upgrades Emphasize faster Focus build as a top priority for combat challenges like Focused Fighter.
Secondary skills Stun/Flurry buffs Enhancing stun attacks and flurry damage makes the Stun-to-Flurry method safer and quicker.
Encounter type Large open mob arena More enemies allow repeated Focus Takedowns without risk of running out of targets mid-combo.
Difficulty Normal/Knight for first clear You still earn challenge credit while having more room to make small mistakes compared to Dark Knight.
Hub interaction Batcave challenge terminal Required to view, track, and claim completion of Focused Fighter and other challenges.

Clearing Focused Fighter not only nets an easy 10,000 Studs, but also trains you to control the Arkham-style Focus and combo system, which pays off across harder late-game fights and other Batcave combat challenges that demand clean, high-score chains. Mastering Focus Takedowns early gives you more efficient clears, faster stud gains, and a smoother path through the rest of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s challenge board.
