How to get the Iron Skull in Halo Campaign Evolved
Start the mission
Load Truth and Reconciliation and fight through the canyon route toward the Covenant ship.
Reach the lift arena
Continue until you arrive at the large outdoor area with the gravity lift.
Clear the enemies
Take out the Covenant in the arena so you can line up the drop without being pushed or shot off course.
Go to the far cliff side
Move away from the lift toward the outer cliff edge on the far side of the area.
Find the landmarks
Look for the small ground light, the cactus-like plant, and the tall tree with leaves near the top.
Look down from the sloped rock
Stand on the sloped rock between the light and the cactus-like plant, then angle the camera down over the edge.
Drop onto the ledge
Fall straight down onto the narrow ledge with the Iron Skull; the ledge is thin, so it is easy to overshoot.
Pick up the skull
Touch the Iron Skull on the ledge to add it to your skull unlocks.
Returning after the Iron Skull pickup
After you collect it, getting back up is awkward because the ledge sits below the main arena. If you can line it up, jump toward the nearby tree branches and use them to work back toward solid ground.
If that does not cooperate, the simpler recovery is to die and respawn at the last checkpoint. Since the pickup is already handled, that is often faster than fighting the ledge geometry.
