Huawei launched the Honor 5X as sequel to its popular device of 2014, the Honor 4X. With metal body and fingerprint scanner on board, Honor 5X quickly got bought over by interested users, who must be now waiting for the news as to when the Marshmallow update would begin rolling out to their device.
Those using the Honor 5X in India will be glad to hear that company’s official Twitter handle for Honor devices in India, the Honor India, just confirmed that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be rolling out soon in the region.
By ‘soon’ we think it’s in next few weeks. Huawei has earlier released the Marshmallow update for its Honor 7 in India — which was pretty quick too — so the company does have working builds of Android 6.0 ready with it, and only needs to optimize it for Honor 5X.
It should be more than a month before we see Honor 5X Marshmallow update release. On the more optimistic note, it could be as soon as next week, who knows?
Those still on the Honor 4X — one of the best devices in budget range last year — would be glad to hear that company is still maintaining it’s long promised February release for Marshmallow update release for the device. So, you can still be hopeful about Android 6.0 update by mid- to March-end.
Here’s the tweet company released earlier today.
Do you own Honor 5X, or plan to own one? What’s your view of the device?
