Huawei working on a super-budget Android phone, priced under $65 with a specsheet better than Android One

Huawei Budget Phone $65

Huawei is rumored to be working on a budget smartphone that will cost as low as 399 yuan ($64). We believe the device will be directly competing with a similar budget phone from Xiaomi that was rumored last month. Both the devices are said to be sold for a super cheap price — 399 Chinese yuan.

What’s great about this is that Huawei isn’t compromising on the specs to keep the price low. The phone is said to have a 5-inch 720p screen, 5MP camera on back (without flash) and a 2MP camera on the front. It will be powered by 1GB RAM, however we don’t have details on the processor yet. The device will have dual SIM card slots with support for China mobile’s TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA/GSM network.

The Xiaomi budget phone which is also rumored to be under the same price carries a similar specsheet, but only better. The Xiaomi device will also have a LED flash for the rear camera and will be running a lead core 1860 processor.

These super budget smartphones from Huawei and Xiaomi carry a specsheet which is enough to put Android One devices to shame, which were surprisingly cheap ($100) for the 2014.

There’s no word on the release date of this new smartphone from Huawei, but we’d guess it be around March-April 2015.
