At the MWC 2015 tech show, the Chinese firm Huawei announced the Android Wear based smartwatch called Huawei Watch. The device arrives in three different colors and styles such as Black, Silver and Gold. These variants have different bands and they come with 40 different watch faces for customization.
While the smartwatch was unveiled early this month, Huawei did not announce its pricing information. But, the device was rumored to be expensive as it features a gold version as well. However, these rumors have been smashed as the pricing of the Huawei Watch has popped up in Germany. Well, the Gold Huawei Watch is likely to be priced at EUR 399 and the Black and Silver versions are listed for EUR 349 each.
Notably, the Apple Watch’s base version that is the cheapest Apple Watch Sport model with rubbery bands is priced in this range. This makes the Huawei offering reasonably priced for its features being a smartwatch.
The Huawei Watch is a circular smartwatch with an AMOLED display of 42 mm diameter. Huawei has given a screen resolution of 400×400 pixels translating to 286 ppi pixel density and 10,000:1 contrast ratio to the device.
The Huawei Watch is built using stainless steel and it has a distinct 2 o’clock press button meant for interaction. It supports inductive charging stations and makes use of Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 512 MB of RAM. The Android Wear device uses Bluetooth 4.1 to connect to a smartphone and features sensors including heart rate monitor, barometer, six-axis motion sensor and others.
