It’s not only the smartphone segment that Huawei is targeting at the MWC 2017, but it has set its eyes on other areas as well. One of them being the smartwatch segment. The company has officially announced to launch the second generation Huawei Watch with Android Wear 2.0 out-of-the-box, during the event.
The announcement was made by Richard Yu, Huawei’s CEO via a Weibo post. The post, alongwith the announcement, carried a photo of a man in sports gear looking at a watch on his wrist. This leads us to surmise that Huawei Watch 2 will focus much more on fitness activity.
Based on past leaks, Huawei Watch 2 should sport a 1.4-inch display and a 42-millimeter body. It will be shipped with a built-in SIM card enabling the Watch 2 wearer to make calls without being connected to an Android or iOS smartphone. It would come with either a leather or stainless steel band.
We also know that Huawei will be launching its high-end smartphone P10 on February 26th during the MWC event and another device Honor V9 a week before that on February 21st. So, there’s a lot happening for Huawei this month. And we do look forward to that!
