Huawei’s older flagships, the P9 and P9 Plus are getting a new update in China. The new build bumps the software version on board of the devices to 8.0.0.535 and brings the September security patch, among other things.

The update is bundled with a lot of improvements, but most importantly it fixes some startup bugs users of the two devices have been complaining of.

The changelog for the update is pretty extensive and includes things like artificial engine optimization which brings an overall smoother mobile experience. Huawei has also thrown in a few new shooting modes like 3D dynamic panoramic shooting mode.

What’s more, the new build adds a floating ball navigation, which can help users navigate anywhere on the screen for easier operation. A new recycle bin function has been added to the Album app. This allows users to retain deleted photos for up to 30 days. So in case, you’ve deleted a pic by accident, you can now easily retrieve it. What’s more, the update also brings a nifty feature that allows the recorder to convert voice files into text.
