It looks like Huawei has released the Android Nougat update for the Huawei P9 and the Mate 8 in China. A leaked document recently revealed that the updates will be delivered today, and Huawei has kept their word.
As we posted yesterday, the Huawei P9 gets the Nougat update in the form of build B352, while the Mate 8 gets a build B552. These builds are for the normal users, whereas those using a previous beta(B198) will get the B363 build on the P9. Beta users(B386) on the Mate 8 will get a separate build as well, that is B562.
These new builds are only available in China right now and are currently being rolled out to users. A full rollout will start tomorrow, according to the leaked document. The Huawei P9 Plus is supposed to get the Nougat update tomorrow, although we’re not sure if it will be a beta or the final build.
The P9 has already received the Android Nougat update in Philippines and the P9 Lite has also received a beta build of Nougat. Nevertheless, it is nice to see that Huawei is actually releasing the Android 7.0 software much earlier than their proposed release timeline.
