When things went sour between Huawei and Google, the former was given until August 19th to ensure that all of its devices have been upgraded to the latest Android OS version, Android Q. And it seems the company is working day and night to actually take advantage of this reprieve.

The only Huawei device that has had access to Android Q beta officially is the Mate 20 Pro, but it’s now emerging that Huawei P30 Pro is also getting ready to receive the update to Q and in fact, tests are ongoing as well.

Folks at XDA Developers already have a working EMUI 10 build that installs Android Q beta on the P30 Pro. Apparently, this early build reveals close to no changes to the UI when compared to EMUI 9, but expect to come across the new permission controls included in Q alongside the many features the new OS brings forth.

You can watch the XDA video at the end of this post for an early look at EMUI 10 on the P30 Pro. If interested in the process of installing the new EMUI 10 build on your P30 Pro, check out this XDA post.

Google announced the ongoing Android Q beta program at the I/O in May and confirmed the Mate 20 Pro as the only Huawei device participating in the program. The device was later removed from the list after Google was forced to drop Android support for Huawei devices in order to comply with a U.S. government directive, but it was relisted shortly after.
