May 08, 2019: An update is available for the Nova 3i in China as EMUI 8.2.0.157. This is a target for users of the stable version that is still based on Oreo and with it comes a new security patch for April 2019.
Other users of the Nova 3i in the same region are already trialing Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top, with an expected release date in the coming days. The update is rolling out to models INE-AL00 and INE-TL00.
April 03, 2019: Huawei is rolling out a new software update to the Nova 3i that installs EMUI 9.01.163. On top of March 2019 security patch, the update also optimizes camera performance and stability, improves launch and photo-taking speeds, and optimizes mobile data network stability for better Internet browsing.
The OTA update also gets you an updated list of pre-downloaded songs to better cater to your preference.

Nova 3i Android 9 Pie update

Huawei Nova 3i users can now join the EMUI 9.0 beta program that brings Android 9 Pie to the device as EMUI 9.0. The company notes that you must be on EMUI 8.2.0.142 in order to make the cut, although the update is also likely to be distributed region-wise.
Still, we expect a stable update to arrive in Q2 2019.
