We just got our hands on the Huawei Nougat update list of Huawei devices that would receive Android Nougat update. After much speculation, owners of these phones will be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
The leak shows that, in addition to the Mate 9, which was just released last week with Android 7.0 pre-installed, there are around 10 devices currently in market that will receive Android 7.0 update from the company in future. Here is a list of devices, right below.
- Huawei Mate 8
- Huawei P9
- Huawei P9 Plus
- Huawei Honor 8
- Honor V8
- Huawei Honor 5C
- Huawei Honor 6X
- Huawei G9 Plus
- Huawei Nova
Even the above list doesn’t mention Honor 5X, it’s been already confirmed that the device is in for the Android 7.0 update. So, don’t fret out, 5X fans!
The Nougat update will be running under the Huawei custom skin EMotion UI or EMUI 5.0 atop it. Other OEMs generally ignore previous iterations, especially mid range and only provide updates for their flagships.
The Honor 8 Nougat beta had released a week back and it’s available for Indian users to download. If you don’t want to enroll in the beta testing, the Nougat firmware is also available for download and manual installation.
The Android 7.0 beta testing is also going on the Mate 8, and you can grab the firmware from here. Huawei P9 Nougat firmware has also been leaked online if you just can’t wait for the official release. The newly released Mate 9 may receive Android Nougat 7.1 in early Q1 2017. That isn’t such a long wait for owners of the Mate 9.
