March 16, 2019: Huawei is rolling out a new software update to the Mate RS Porsche Design. The EMUI 9.0.0.182 update has been spotted in China for model NEO-AL00.
The changelog is in Chinese, but when translated, it says the Mate RS is receiving February 2019 security patches alongside the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.

Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design was launched alongside the P20 and P20 Pro in early 2018 and continues to receive regular software updates together with the P20 duo.

Huawei Mate RS Android 9 Pie update

The Mate RS, like the devices it launched with, has already received the update to EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9 Pie in China. Being a limited edition, not much has been out here regarding the global variants Pie release date, but the device should have already received the update alongside the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro.
Huawei Mare RS Android Q update

Being a flagship device means that Huawei Mate RS will also receive a second major OS upgrade to Android Q. When this will happen remains unknown, but with the P20 duo expected to get the update somewhere in Q4 2019, the Mate RS should also make the switch at around the same time.
